BOBBY TAYLOR - #24

Bobby Taylor's number was retired Oct. 10, 2008, at the Longview vs. Mount Pleasant homecoming game. His number was the first number to ever be retired by Longview High School.

 

TAYLOR'S CAREER:

 

Bobby Taylor played football for the Lobos from 1989-92 and was a member of the 1992 5A Texas State Championship basketball team.  He then played college football forretired from the NFL in 2005.

TRENT WILLIAMS - # 71

​

Longview Independent School District and the Longview Lobo Football Program honored 2006 Longview High School graduate Trent Williams by retiring his No. 71 Lobo jersey on May 10, 2017.

 

After earning All-District, All-East Texas, and All-State honors in leading the Lobos to consecutive district championships, Williams was one of the top linemen in the country at The University of Oklahoma and was twice named All-Big XII and became a unanimous All-American selection in 2009.

 

Williams is an NFL offensive tackle for the San Francisco 49ers. He was drafted by the Washington Redskins fourth overall in the 2010 NFL Draft. Williams is considered to be one of the best tackles in the league, making seven straight Pro Bowl appearances from 2012 to 2018 and adding another in 2020 and 2021.

Off the field, Williams has been active in supporting his community, donating time and financial support to various Longview Lobo facilities and programs, including providing free echocardiograms for student-athletes and funding the Lobo Den Locker Room. Williams also hosts an annual youth football camp at Lobo Stadium that features other professional athletes from the Longview area.
